A poolside cabana rental at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace is the ultimate way to have a luxurious relaxing day!
As of the writing of this post, a cabana rental ranges from $199 on weekdays to $249 on weekends plus 6.5% tax and 18% gratuity.
There are only 6 cabanas available which are located at the pool adjacent to SHADES. Cabana rentals can be made up to 30 days prior to your hotel check in date.
You're able to check into your cabana starting from 11am (at SHADES, the pool bar). If you do not check in by 1pm (or let the staff know you'll be late), you risk having your reservation cancelled and being charged a 50% cancellation fee. Cabanas can be cancelled 48+ hours prior to your reservation at no charge. Otherwise, a 50% cancellation fee applies.
Food and beverage service runs from 11am to 6pm, however you are more than welcome to stay in the cabana until the pool closes at 11pm.
Each cabana can hold up to 6 guests.
Unfortunately, you are not able to select your cabana. Assignments are done prior to 11am and you are not able to swap cabanas even if you're the first person to check in; speaking from personal experience! 😅 My reason for wanting to switch cabanas is mentioned below.
We were assigned cabana 3 which is on the Island Building side of the pool with your view being the main tower building. It's closest to the Float Lagoon pool, and furthest away from SHADES. Not an inconvenience considering you have a personal server for the day bringing you food and drinks.
Cabanas are 10ft x 10ft covered awnings with curtains around all 4 sides. You are able to open or close the entrance side to your privacy preferences.
Inside you'll find a credenza, day bed and two plush lounge chairs.
The credenza features a safe, extra towels and mini fridge.
There is a fan with a light inside the cabana. The on/off switch is located inside your cabana.
A flat screen TV with remote is found hanging in the upper right corner of the entrance side where you can adjust the curtains to your desired level of privacy.
You also get a water dispenser filled with ice water, fruit platter waiting for you in the mini fridge upon arrival and the menu for SHADES is located on top of the credenza.
As previously mentioned, our view was the pool adjacent to SHADES and the tower building of Hilton Buena Vista Palace.
Outside of the cabana were two lounge chairs. If your plans for the day consist of sunbathing all day, Cabanas 1, 2 and 3 will be disappointing in terms of sun exposure on the lounge chairs. We didn't get sun until about 4pm (in April) and by that point, it wasn't very strong and there was no tanning happening. This was truly the only negative to the entire day. I'm pretty sure that in the summer months, this isn't an issue; but please don't take my word for it! (Can anybody confirm or deny?!) This was the reason for me wanting to switch cabanas. We could see the cabanas from our hotel room and I noticed the lack of sun on this side of the pool each day.
The day bed and ability to close the curtains for privacy was wonderful when it came to breastfeeding my 11 month old and getting my 2 year old to take a nap.
We spent the majority of our time inside our cabana with the exception of about an hour when we went to go have fun in the Float Lagoon. The Float Lagoon is the other pool which features a beach zero entry with fountains.
You can play in this shallow area or you can grab a tube and enter the lazy river (maximum depth of 3 feet). It's basically a large oval shape with one section where you might get soaked by fountains if you don't steer your tube. The kids absolutely loved it!
The lazy river is bordered by lush vegetation giving it a very relaxing vibe complete with views of both the main tower and the Island building of the resort.
Renting a poolside cabana was such a special treat and totally worth every penny! Both adults and children loved the private space, being able to escape the sun if needed and having food and beverage service for the day. I won't hesitate to book another cabana if we ever stay at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace again in Orlando, Florida!
We were lucky enough to return to Hilton Buena Vista Palace on December 23, 2022 for a one-night stay. Our flight home from our cruise on the MSC Meraviglia was cancelled due to the Southwest Meltdown so we booked a rental car and came back. I made a cabana reservation from the cruise ship and had requested a cabana on the opposite side this time so that we would have full sun on the sun loungers. Unfortunately, Florida was also effected by the weather; it was super cloudy and then temperatures were rapidly falling each hour. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our cabana, the food and beverage service and it kept us warm until our room was ready for check-in!
