Everglades Tour w/ FLL Airport Transfer

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

If you have a flight past 3pm, booking an excursion with airport transfer is a great option!

Not only does it give you something to do for the day and brings you to the airport, the coach bus stores your luggage for the day! There's nothing worse than having to wait hours for a flight after a cruise and having a bunch of luggage to carry around.

The Everglades Tour with FLL Airport Transfer picks you up at the cruise terminal. When you exit the building, you simply follow the signs to board the coach bus dedicated for your excursion. You'll show your shore excursion ticket, hand the driver your luggage and then board the bus.

Once the bus is full, you head to an Everglades park. The park that you'll visit varies on which park the cruise line purchased tickets to. This post refers to the Everglades Safari Park which is about 40 minutes from the port. Once there, you'll head towards the water to get into one of the air boats. They leave every 20-30 minutes so there's never much of a wait to begin your Everglades tour.

If you have a little one with you, they will give you a life jacket to put on your child. As you can see, Sebastien was less than thrilled to be wearing one 😅

Do note, the air boats are LOUD! If your child or anybody in your party has sensory sensitivity or simply does not like loud noises, I highly recommend you bring a pair of ear muffs or ear plugs! The airboats are powered by huge fans that are far from quiet.

I ended up holding my hands over Sebastien's ears the majority of the boat ride as I did not have any earmuffs with me.

Your tour lasts about 30 minutes where you'll learn about the wildlife that lives in the Everglades, the various vegetation and of course, get to see wild alligators!

Afterwards, you'll head back to shore and go see an Alligator Show. You'll walk thru a building with aquarium tanks featuring reptiles in order to get to the show arena.

The educational show displays a baby alligator, python snake and of course features adult alligators!

The park also features nature trails. Unfortunately, you do not have enough time to go exploring the trails on your own.

Afterwards you have time to check out the gift shop and Café (at your expense). If you have little ones, or need to shop for little ones, there's a wide selection of stuffed animals and other various animal themed toys.

You end up being at the Everglades Safari Park for about 2 hours. Travel time from Everglades Safari Park to FLL airport takes about an hour. In total, this excursion will use up about 4 hours of your day. When you get to the airport, the bus will stop at each entrance so you'll stay on until it reaches your airline. Southwest is the first stop (what we always fly). This was definitely a neat experience and a great way to spend several hours prior to our late afternoon flight!
